The Hayward Gallery appointed Praline to design the exhibition catalogue for Yoshitomo Nara’s summer show, the largest-ever European retrospective of one of Japan’s most celebrated artists, curated by Yung Ma.

Working closely with Nara’s assistant, Satoko Hamada, and editor Clare Preston, we briefed photographer Keizo Kioku to capture high-definition details of selected works that demonstrate Nara’s mastery of painterly techniques, which are particularly apparent when viewed in person.
